Sovrn’s solutions include an exchange (its original business), a data product, an ad management suite, and affiliate tools. Some of its customers maintain traditional properties (web and apps), while others operate entirely on Instagram, YouTube, and other distributed platforms. It works with both large and mid-tail publishers.
In this interview led by Mike Shields, CEO Walter Knapp says the company’s main differentiators are its data assets and unified workflows. And he says Sovrn is actively bolting on new capabilities. It has made seven acquisitions in total and plans to buy more companies this year.
